Be in the Know
Are background checks required?
Mentors should submit a background check upon request. Background checks are required by law to ensure the safety of minor mentees.
Are training required for participants?
The program will make some trainings mandatories and other optional. You will receive a notification with the information required for your training.
Background check elements

Clean criminal history

Have never been accused, arrested, charged, or convicted of child abuse or molestation

Not be a convicted felon (7 years lapse time)

Not use alcohol or controlled substances in an excessive or inappropriate manner

How often do mentors/mentees meet?
Once a week for 30 minutes
or
bi-weekly for 1 hour
Where do mentors/mentees meet?
Online meetings
Mentors will schedule recurring meetings in zoom, teams, google meet, or phone
When will mentoring end?

Matches are re-evaluated yearly

Mentors and mentees may choose to continue with each other or ask for a different match.
