Our Story

In 2018, I (founder of AwAction) had a conversation with a few community youths who raised some concerns about education, career path guidance, and cultural adaptation. Our exchanges piqued my interest and led me to investigate further, with a larger group.  We surveyed some families and found that support was lacking or insufficient; especially in households where English was not the primary language.

Many parents reported helplessness in providing meaningful guidance in their children's educational and career choices. This was due to limited English proficiency and inadequate knowledge of the U.S educational system.  Additionally, cultural gaps between parents and children entangle their relationships.  Attacking these issues necessitates involvement from adults who understand the challenges and possess the know-how to lend a helping hand.

AwAction fills the gap that deepens the access to adequate guidance and support for our community youths and their parents/guardians. AwAction is a gateway for parents who want educational and career path support for their children.  We accompany youths navigate through their educational and career options and mitigate cultural gap issues.
